Will - Make Me Shiver's low-end maestro

William grew up surrounded by music in many different forms and genres that influenced him to eventually pick up an instrument. He especially gives credit to his mother and father for teaching him the basics of music and pitch at a very young age as well as introducing him to many forms of music, including classical and opera. His grandfather also taught him to play some on the banjo at an early age, which he incorporates in his bass playing.

He chose the bass guitar as his main instrument for a variety of reasons, but mostly because he had an affinity and a talent for playing it and no one else really played it in the family. After teaching himself how to play the bass, he joined his sister's band, which was in need of a bassist. This gave him an opportunity to "cut his teeth" in a practical setting. William has played with a couple of bands and in a few other side projects through the years as well, adding to the practical experience.

Not content to just "hold down the bottom end," or "play cyclical lines," William plays mostly a lead style on the bass that he is constantly honing and trying to improve.

Most of his influence comes comes from classical music, Jazz (mostly Be-Bop, Hard Bop, and Fusion Jazz), Metal, Progressive Rock, Blue Grass, and Flamenco, among many others.

While in college, he was able to take instruction on the bass, which pushed his abilities far beyond where they were, as well as getting rid of bad habits. During this time, he learned to not only read sheet music, but also to transpose classical pieces from instruments such as the piano and pipe organ to the bass; one that he is especially proud of is the transposing of J.S. Bach's BWV 645. He has continued his musical endeavors, as well, by teaching himself to play the organ and guitar as well a few other instruments.

He looks toward his music as one of the best creative and fun outlets and loves to perform whenever an opportunity to do so presents itself.
