Kenneth first started playing guitar at age 15 after moving to Eastern Washington from southern Oregon in 1983. Fueled not only by his heroes -- Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, Fleetwood Mac's Lindsay Buckingham, and Dire Straits' Mark Knopfler, among others -- but also by his father, who also plays guitar, Kenneth began studying guitar from anyone who would take a few
minutes to show him something on the instrument.
In the intervening years, Kenneth continued to learn and play, despite several major moves, including two moves to Florida and several more back to Oregon. Though he'd been in a few bands before, they'd never been serious; joining "Forbidden Blue" in 1999 was something different. "Charity had all these songs," he says, "and writing leads to them was something different from what I had already done."
During the breaks from the band, Kenneth worked toward a Bachelor's degree in History with a goal of eventually teaching college, but the death of his sister in 2003 put a damper on his educational goals. Instead, Kenneth began working again and rejoined the band when it reformed in 2004. Now, his goals are to "quit work and start playing music for a living... don't I wish!"
